Degree course in textile conservation/restoration This five-year full-time degree course consists of two cycles: a three-year Bachelor’s programme followed by a two-year Master’s programme. The degree course is affiliated to the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BUAS). The programme is offered in close collaboration with the subject area Conservation and Restoration of the Bern University of Arts (BUA) and in coordination with the Swiss Conservation-Restoration Campus (Swiss CRC). The practice modules in the textile conservation workshop and in the museum of the Abegg-Stiftung are an essential part of the course. The degree awarded upon completing the programme is a “Master in Conservation-Restoration UAS”, specialisation “Textiles”. The five-year degree course offers the qualification required by the Swiss and European professional associations in conservation-restoration for full independent professional practice in textile conservation and restoration.
