Library The Abegg Foundation collects literature on art and art history from antiquity to the early nineteenth century. The main emphasis is on textiles, but art in general, painting, architecture, history, archeology and sculpture and works of art are also covered. Another important area is conservation and restoration, with the main emphasis on textiles. Library books can only be consulted in situ and are not available for loan. Access is possible during office hours by prior arrangement. Current periodicals, the card index catalogues and the online catalogue may be consulted in the reading room. The following catalogues are available: catalogue of authors and anonymous works, catalogues of keywords and place names and catalogues of periodicals and auctions. A new possibility is to search the stock from 1994 on via online catalogue. The inventory comprises some 60,000 entries and around 200 current periodicals are kept.
